JCCA Job Opportunities For Kesher Program

JCCA’s Preventive Services division is seeking two part-time Youth Advocates for the Kesher program. Kesher is a day and evening program for Jewish young adults, ages 14–19. Kesher teens connect with each other, receive professional support and participate in engaging, fun activities. Services include: career and college guidance, job coaching and internships, recreational outings, health and substance abuse education and counseling.

Essential Job Functions

Establish and maintain core groups for female/male teens aged 14-19 who would benefit from group services.

Establish working relationship with teens.

Refer teen for additional community services, as needed.

Assist parents of at-risk youth with behavioral issues; helping parents support their children’s development and well-being.

Record incident reports, process notes, program attendance, and required paperwork.

Recruit, participate in planning, and implementation of client group activities.

Support/Assist Group workers, as needed.

Accompany teens in outings.

Qualifications:

High school graduate

Knowledge of the Jewish Orthodox community required

Interest in helping others and learning how to identify child abuse.

Basic understanding on teens, individual and family functioning.

Excellent communication skills.

Be able to thrive in a group environment.

Skills in working with hard to reach or resistant adolescents and families from varied cultural backgrounds.

**9-hours per week***

*Hybrid work schedule- some remote hours available
