Hadar: Camp Counselor/Programmer
Camp will be divided into two groups, one group ages 3-5 and one group ages 6-9. Each group will have no more than 5 children. Applicants should have experience working with kids in all or some of this age range, be excited to be in an outdoor and shared living camp setting of around fifty people, and happy to be in an Jewish observant and egalitarian community for the summer. Work hours will be approximately 50 hours per week (including some evening and weekend hours) from July 6-July 29 (in addition to some lead time for planning and setting up).
Responsibilities:
Create and implement camp program including daily schedule and activities
Run camp group through the duration of the program ensuring childrens’ enjoyment and safety
Communicate with parents effectively as needed
Qualifications:
Experience in childcare/camp setting and program planning
Love for outdoor activity
Energetic and playful disposition
Experience in informal Jewish education a plus
Familiarity with Jewish life and rituals a plus
Training in cpr and first aid a plus
Salary commensurate with experience starting at $2,000. All meals during the program, and transportation to the site, will be covered.
